Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Auditions for Young Actors on Monday, August 12th!

Magical Theatre Company, Northeast Ohio’s professional resident and touring theatre for young audiences and families, is auditioning young actors ages 6 – 13 for:

  • Tuck Everlasting
    (Rehearses Sept 16 – Oct 8. Runs Oct 9 – 20, 2024)
  • The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
    (Rehearses Nov 7 – Dec 3. Runs Dec 4 – 22, 2024)

Each child will be asked to read from the script(s), and may be asked to sing a short Christmas carol.

All must be able to be released from school for weekday performances.

Auditions will be held at Magical Theatre Company (565 W. Tuscarawas Ave. Barberton, OH) on Monday, August 12th at 6:30 pm. Each young actor will be asked to read from the script(s).

Casting Breakdown:

Please be aware that the ages listed below are suggested age ranges. There are many factors involved with casting, including height and look. There may be actors outside of the suggested age range who look younger or older than their actual age, and thus may be suitable for casting.

Open to all ethnicities.

Casting Breakdown for Tuck Everlasting

WINNIE FOSTER. (10-14 years old) Independent and adventurous, she rebels against her family’s rigid formalities, but isn’t fully prepared for the dangers she encounters.

Casting Breakdown for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

BETH BRADLEY. 10-13ish. A lead role and the show’s narrator. Beth needs a strong speaking voice and stage presence; is in most scenes dealing with a range of moods and situations.
CHARLIE BRADLEY. 8-10; Beth’s brother – the typical kid brother.
THE HERDMANS — “the worst kids in the history of the world.”
RALPH. 12-14. The oldest Herdman; ragged, scroungy, slouching manner, touch of adolescent cool.
IMOGENE. 11-13 Loud, bossy, tough, crafty. The Herdman leader.
LEROY. 10-12. Tough, very sure of himself.
CLAUDE. 8-10. Tough, combative. A crime buddy to Ollie.
OLLIE. 8-10. Boy or girl. Always looking for trouble. Claude’s usual partner in crime.
GLADYS. 7-9. Small, wiry, feisty. Often funny; sometimes means it.
ALICE WENDLEKEN. 10-13. Prim, proper, pain in the neck
MAXINE: 10-12. Beth’s church Sunday school classmate.
ELMER. 12-14. The minister’s son; dislikes church; not fond of the Herdmans.
HOBIE, DAVID, BEVERLY, JUANITA, DORIS. Various ages, 7-10.

ADDITIONAL ROLES. Various ages, 7-up. Angel Choir members; baby angels, shepherds
